We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and other applicable data protection laws.
2. Scope of this Policy
This Policy applies to personal data we collect when you visit the Hausly website, create an account, use the application, receive our emails or otherwise interact with us in connection with Hausly. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that may be linked from Hausly.
3. Categories of personal data
We may process the following categories of personal data:
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, account settings, communication language, organisation name and similar information you provide when creating or updating your account.
- Usage data: actions within Hausly (for example, login timestamps, projects created, generations triggered, credit usage), device and browser information, IP address, approximate location based on IP, and log data such as access times and error logs.
- Payment data: billing address, VAT number and limited payment information required for invoicing. Full payment card details are handled by our payment providers and are not stored by us.
- Content data: house photos, prompts, design instructions, feedback and other content you upload or generate via Hausly, including the resulting AI-generated images and designs.
- Communication data: messages you send us (for example via email or support channels), feedback, survey responses and your marketing preferences.
- Cookie and tracking data: identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies, which may be associated with your account and usage of the Service.
4. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:
- Providing and operating the Service – to create and manage your account, authenticate you, generate AI-based designs, save your projects and provide core functionality.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). - Billing and accounting – to process payments, issue invoices, keep mandatory accounting records and handle related inquiries.
Legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(c) GDPR). - Service improvement and product development – to analyse how Hausly is used, improve existing features, develop new ones, maintain performance and prevent abuse.
Legal basis: our legitimate interests in improving and securing the Service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). - Security, fraud prevention and misuse detection – to protect accounts, investigate suspicious activity and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
Legal basis: legitimate interests in protecting the Service and users, and compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(c) GDPR). - Customer support – to handle your requests, questions and complaints.
Legal basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests in providing support (Article 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR). - Marketing and newsletters – to send you product updates, feature announcements, tips and offers related to Hausly and other Akrinum services.
Legal basis: our legitimate interests in promoting and developing our business, or your consent where required (Article 6(1)(f) or 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can opt out at any time. - Legal compliance – to comply with laws, regulations, court orders and requests from public authorities.

5. Marketing communications and newsletter
When you register for Hausly, we may use your email address to send you:
- onboarding information and product tips;
- updates about new features, improvements and roadmap items;
- occasional offers or promotions related to Hausly or other Akrinum products.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such email. Even if you unsubscribe, we may still send you transactional or service-critical emails (for example, security alerts, billing information, changes to legal documents).
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve Hausly, remember your preferences, keep you logged in and measure aggregated usage. Depending on your jurisdiction, certain cookies may require your consent, which can be managed through a cookie banner or your browser settings.
You can control cookies through your browser, including blocking or deleting them. However, some features of Hausly may not function properly if certain cookies are disabled.
7. Recipients and data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share personal data with the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers and processors – such as hosting providers, email delivery services, analytics tools, payment processors and AI model providers that help us operate Hausly. These parties process data on our behalf and are bound by data processing agreements.
- Professional advisers – such as lawyers, accountants and auditors, where necessary for our legitimate interests and legal obligations.
- Public authorities – where required by law or to protect our rights, users or third parties (for example in case of suspected fraud or security incidents).
- Business transfers – in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred, subject to appropriate safeguards.
8. International data transfers
Some of our service providers may be located outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:
- an adequacy decision by the European Commission for the destination country; or
- standard contractual clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, supplemented by additional measures where necessary.

9. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law.
- Account data: stored for the lifetime of your account. If you close your account or it becomes inactive, relevant data is deleted or anonymised, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Inactive accounts: if you do not generate any new images or other Outputs with Hausly for at least 6 consecutive months, we may treat your account as inactive and delete or anonymise your account data, Inputs and Outputs from active systems. We may retain limited data in backups or for legal, accounting and fraud-prevention purposes.
- Billing and payment data: retained for the period required by applicable accounting and tax laws.
- Support and communication data: retained for as long as necessary to resolve your request and for a reasonable period thereafter for reference, dispute resolution and to improve our services.
- Logs and security data: retained for a limited period appropriate for security monitoring and incident investigation.
10. AI models and training
We use third-party AI providers and/or our own models to generate Outputs from your Inputs. We do not use your identifiable house photos or project content to train public-facing models in a way that would make your specific house or project recognisable to other users.
We may use aggregated or anonymised information about how the Service is used to improve model performance, safety systems and the overall quality of Hausly.
11. Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EEA, the UK or another jurisdiction with similar rights, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Right of access: to obtain confirmation as to whether we process your personal data and to receive a copy.
- Right to rectification: to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected.
- Right to erasure: to request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances (for example where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected).
- Right to restriction: to request that we restrict processing in certain cases (for example while we investigate a contested accuracy issue).
- Right to data portability: to receive personal data you provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and, where technically feasible, to have it transmitted to another controller.
- Right to object: to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interests, including profiling, and to object to processing for direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

12. Complaints and supervisory authority
If you believe that we are processing your personal data in violation of data protection laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Estonia, the supervisory authority is the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
13. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. However, no online service can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
14. Children
Hausly is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take appropriate steps.
15. Automated decision-making
Hausly uses AI systems to generate design suggestions based on your Inputs. However, we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you as defined in Article 22 GDPR. You remain responsible for all decisions related to your projects.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our processing activities, legal obligations or business practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and may also provide additional notice (for example via email or in-app).
Your continued use of Hausly after changes become effective constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated Policy.
